The Mount Laurel Community Education Program offers a wide variety of academic, vocational,
avocation, enrichment, and recreational courses and activities for the
preschool through senior citizens. The Community Education Program is
a self-supporting program offering over 175 programs throughout the year.
Residents may direct comments, suggestions, or interest in teaching or
participation to Supervisor of Community Education Suzanne Haftman at our Masonville Facility - 856-231-5891.
The Mount Laurel Community Education department offers a variety of
non-credit, fee-based courses for community residents of all ages. Classes
are offered during the day and evening hours.
In addition, the following activities are coordinated through the Community
Education Department:
STEP Art and STEP Theater
The Special Talented Enrichment Programs (STEP) are designed to meet
the needs of students who demonstrate exceptional talent in music and
art. The programs attempt to extend and enrich students' skills
and abilities in their identified areas of talent. It is available to
children of Mount Laurel families in grades 5-8.
Summer STEP Theater Workshop
This summer program, for all Mount Laurel children in grades five through
eight, is held during late June and July. All children who participate
receive a part in the musical production that culminates the workshop.
Summer Day Camp
This camp is sponsored by the Community Education Program and is open
to children of township residents from ages 6 to 11. The camp operates
at the Larchmont School, typically beginning one week after the closing
of school and lasting eight weeks. There is an early drop-off and late
pick-up service available for an additional fee. The camp focuses on
a variety of activities designed to interest children at the various
age levels.
Camp Laurel 2013
Our in-demand summer day camp provides a safe, nurturing, enjoyable environment for children who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade as of July 2013. Our caring, child-centered staff is comprised of mainly college students and certified teachers. Our staff is CPR-certified. A nurse is present for medication dispersal and also on field trips. Camp includes an art program, sports, indoor and outdoor activities, clubs, weekly themed events, recreational swimming at Larchmont Swim Club, field trips, and special programs at no extra cost. Lunch and snack are not provided. Parents provide transportation to and from Camp Laurel.

Cancellations: Cancellation requests after April 30, 2013 will be subject to a $250.00 non-refundable fee. After May 31, 2013 no refunds will be issued. Camp Laurel regrets that we cannot prorate tuition based on student attendance, vacations, attending part-time, etc.
