Help Wanted: Volunteers to Mentor Students in T.I.M.E. Program

Many people are not aware that there are hundreds of volunteers helping in our schools each day. Since 1990, some of the most valuable direct assistance has come from Project T.I.M.E. (Teach, Inspire, Mentor, Empower) volunteers. The program begun by Reverend Terrell Person matches adults with students for one hour of special time each week. Right now, 30 students are awaiting mentors in our schools, and your help is needed. If you have an hour a week to spare by having lunch and chatting, reading together, shooting some hoops or just listening, we need you!

Attend Board of Education Meetings To Learn More

The Mount Laurel Board of Education meets twice monthly, as a rule. The first meeting of the month is a work session where matters are discussed, but action is generally not taken. The regular meeting follows a week later, as a rule, and it is at this meeting that the board votes on agenda items. Both the work session and regular meetings offer time for public comment.

Here's a complete list of meeting dates, locations and times.
This brochure explains board process & procedures.

The mission of the Mount Laurel Township School District is to prepare all children to be successful citizens and workers in the 21st Century. As aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards, this includes educating students to read with comprehension, write clearly, compute accurately, think critically, reason, discover, innovate, collaborate, and use information to solve problems.
