NJSLA-Science Test Resources

This spring, students in grades 5 & 8 will participate in an online assessment called  the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA). The NJSLA-S measures student proficiency with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) for Science and is designed to determine a student's readiness for college and career. It will help parents and teachers to determine whether or not students have achieved grade level standards.

How to Help Your Child With Test-Taking

Test-taking can be stressful for children. Often, the pressure to perform well is self-imposed and results in anxiety that parents may not immediately recognize. Parents can help to offset that anxiety by making sure that children eat a good breakfast on test days and get a good night's sleep the night before. But there are other ways to help throughout the school year if you understand the types of assessments students will face and the basic expectations of success.
