Mrs. Aja Thomas has been serving as the Director of Human Resources since January 2022. A graduate of Camden County College in 2005 with an Associate of Science degree in Business, Mrs. Thomas furthered her education by receiving an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Management with DeVry University in 2007. She began her professional career in the public school system that same year as a Confidential Secretary for Winslow Township School District where she quickly advanced in her role as an Administrative Secretary to the Director and Health Benefits Coordinator. In 2009, Mrs. Thomas earned a graduate degree in Human Resources Management from Keller Graduate School of Management graduating Cum Laude. During 2012, Mrs. Thomas was able to receive a Certificate of Eligibility for School Business Administrator to further expand her knowledge in the operations of Human Resources and Business Operations for public schools.  After serving Winslow Township School District for nearly ten years, Mrs. Thomas was appointed as the administrator of Human Resources for Bridgeton Public School District in 2016. As her role as Human Resources Manager, Mrs. Thomas was responsible for recruitment and hiring, substitute staffing, health benefits, labor relations, contract negotiations as well as workman's compensation. Prior to joining the Mount Laurel family, Mrs. Thomas served as the Director of Human Resources with Gloucester County Special Services/GCIT for four years as the lead administrator of the Human Resources Department.

In order to serve our population of students, Mount Laurel School District employs over 850 individuals in a variety of positions, including administrators, principals, teachers, occupational and physical therapists, bus drivers, nurses, paraprofessionals, support staff, custodial/maintenance staff, technology specialists, and other unique and specialized jobs.
